TeachLynx ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform at teachlynx.ca. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services. By using TeachLynx, you consent to the practices described here.
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service: your name, email address, school affiliation, and any content you voluntarily create on the platform (lesson plans, homework assignments, quizzes). We do not collect data about students directly.
Your information is used solely to operate, maintain, and improve TeachLynx. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes under any circumstances.
TeachLynx integrates with Google Classroom via OAuth 2.0. When you connect your Google account, we only request and access the specific scopes you explicitly authorize. We do not store your Google credentials, passwords, or tokens beyond what is required for session continuity. You may revoke this access at any time through your Google account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
If your account is affiliated with a school, your school administrator may access aggregate, non-personal activity metrics such as approximate time spent on the platform and total lesson count. Administrators cannot view your lesson content, personal messages, student data, or any confidential materials.
Content you submit to TeachLynx's AI features (e.g. lesson generation prompts) may be processed by third-party AI providers. We do not use your content to train AI models. AI outputs are generated automatically and we make no representations about their accuracy, completeness, or suitability.
We implement industry-standard security practices including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, rate limiting, and strict access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion and data removal by contacting us at support@teachlynx.ca. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
TeachLynx is designed for use by educators and is not intended for direct use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy at teachlynx.ca/privacy. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
